This is the perfect project to keep the legs warm the winter. This pattern uses chunky wool yarn and 10mm/N hook and can be done in less than 2 hours. Only basic stitches are used: ss, ch, sc and dc Finished size: 16 in/41cm long (from top to bottom), 12in/31cm the widest part (at the top). The size is for adult with small calf. To increase/decrease the size check the notes in the pattern.
Crochet HookN/15 or 10 mm hook
Yarn Weight(6) Super Bulky/Super Chunky (4-11 stitches for 4 inches)
Crochet Gauge11 sc x 15 rows = 4 x 4in (10 x 10 cm) square

However, you can make these for anyone. If it comes to a width, first, you should crochet enough chain stitches to wrap around the widest area of your leg (upper part, or a calf). Then count them and make sure the total number is a multiple of 4. For example, if you make a chain of 62 sts than your nearest number to work with would be 60 sts. It is better to make it one or two stitches smaller because the legwarmers will stretch. For the length do this: measure a distance between the upper part and the ankle area, and crochet until you reach the desired length. If you would like your legwarmers to have a gathered look, then I would make few extra rows.
